Yueyang College is placed as undergraduate institution which is multidisciplinary application based, comprehensive university, emphasized on science and engineering. The estimated number of students to enroll is 15,000, the initial phase of which will be accommodating 6,000 students. The college is covering a total of 200, 000 square meters and aligns the development vision of running first-class education and creating a century-old academic institution and is placed as the application-oriented technological university that will benefit the regional social development. With the planning frame of one core, one ring, two axes, and five zones, the design idea of a green campus with humanistic atmosphere, it aims at becoming a green ecological oriented academic institution, a new cultural landmark of Yueyang, and high production of high-end application-oriented technical talents, high technological research and development, and talent innovation.

In the era of the swift expansion of Internet of Things, artificial intelligence cloud system and big data analysis and with the active promotion of the construction of a smart campus by Yueyang College following the school philosophy that stipulates that the first consideration must be readers and the second service, the library of Yueyang College has upgraded its services in order to be even more convenient and comfortable to both teachers and students. It has also modernized the library entry and exit points by installing the intelligent face recognition gates of Shenzhen Ironman, which allows the use of face scan to enter the library.
